Paste this URL as a Browser Source in OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop, XSplit, vMix, Lightstream, PRISM Live Studio, or any software that supports browser sources (recommended size: 1920×1080).

A countdown for the parts of a stream where nothing is happening yet: the minutes before you go live, a break in the middle, and the last minutes before you sign off. Give it a length or the time of day you want to start at, and it takes the look of the preset you pick. No channel needed, but with one your mods can push it back from chat.

Chat Commands

With a channel filled in, you and your mods can change the countdown from Twitch or Kick chat, for example to push the start back while you are away from the keyboard.

Streaming Software Setup (OBS, Streamlabs, XSplit, etc.)

  1. Add a Browser Source to your starting, break or ending scene and paste the countdown URL.
  2. Set width to 1920 and height to 1080, so the clock sits in the middle of the scene.
  3. Tick "Refresh browser when scene becomes active", so the countdown starts over every time you switch to that scene.
  4. Switch to the scene to start it. With a channel filled in, a mod can push it back with !countdown add 5m while you are away.

Frequently asked questions

When does the countdown start?

The moment the browser source loads: when OBS opens, or when you switch to the scene with "Refresh browser when scene becomes active" ticked. That way a break countdown starts over every time you go to your BRB scene instead of running out while you are still live. Come back to the scene later and the countdown starts over from the top instead of continuing.

Can it count down to the time I announced, like 21:00?

Yes. Set Count Down To a time of day and type 21:00. It reads the clock on the computer running OBS, so you can add the source hours ahead and it still ends at 21:00. If 21:00 has already passed today, it aims at tomorrow.

Do I need to connect my Twitch or Kick account?

No. The countdown runs on its own, with no channel and no login. You only fill in a channel if you want the !countdown commands, and then it reads your public chat the way the other widgets do.

What happens when it reaches zero?

Whatever you pick under At Zero: a message like "We're live!", the clock sitting at 00:00, or the overlay disappearing so the scene is bare. It never switches scenes for you.
